This module is used to perform an analysis on a list of internet
resources. For example when a list of IP addresses is retrieved from a log file,
these IP’s can be analysed in bulk. The result is a grid displaying
comprehensive information on each internet resource. The internet resources in
the grid (both from the input and the results) can be clicked to start an
in-depth analysis with the “deep analysis” module.
Paste a list of IP addresses - maximum 50 - in the bulk analysis
input box and click the “Start investigation” button. The analysis will take
several minutes, especially if a list of 20 to 50 IP addresses was entered.
The result is grid with one line for each IP address. Following columns are
displayed:
- IP address: the IP addresses which is analysed
- State: estimate of the geographical location of the server or PC using this IP
address (95% accuracy)
- Country or region: estimate of the geographical location of the server or PC
using this IP address (95% accuracy)
- City: estimate of the geographical location of the server or PC using this IP
address (70% accuracy)
- Owner name: the owner of the IP address (company name) according to the Whois
database
- Owner e-mail: the first e-mail address found in the Whois information
- Reverse lookup: The PTR record found in the name servers
Each IP address is displayed in blue, indicating that it can be clicked to start
an in-depth analysis using the “deep internet resource analysis” module.

By clicking on “Download list as CSV (Excel)” the resulting grid
can be copied in CSV form. CSV stands for Comma Separated Values. The grid
columns are actually separated by a semicolon. Using the following steps, the
information can be pasted into Excel for further processing:
1. Click on “Download list as CSV (Excel)”, a popup window will open.
2. Select the whole list in the popup window (click with the right mouse button
and choose "Select all").
3. Copy the list (click with the right mouse button and choose "Copy")
4. Paste the list in a plain text file, using for example Notepad.
5. Save the file with a name such as "bulk.csv".
6. Open the file in Excel, it will automatically be imported in a worksheet
using multiple columns.
